The Chillicothe Police Department responded to a total of 105 calls for service over July 5-6, 2024. The following details the activities and incidents handled by officers during this time frame.

Friday, July 5, 2024

01:35 p.m. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Meadowlane regarding fireworks. Officers located the source and advised them of the city ordinance on fireworks to prevent further issues.

06:00 p.m. Officers responded to the 400 block of Vine Street regarding a custody dispute. A 14-year-old child decided to stay with his mother. After speaking with both parents, an agreement was reached for the child to remain with the mother. No further issues were reported.

10:34 p.m. Officers responded to Danner Park regarding multiple fireworks. Officers located the source and advised them of the city ordinance on fireworks to prevent further issues.

Officers also conducted several traffic stops, business checks, paper services, vehicle checks, and followed up on numerous investigations.

Saturday, July 6, 2024

09:41 a.m. Officers responded to the 200 block of East Bridge Street regarding a report of an unknown boat on the property. Officers verified the boat was not entered into M.U.L.E.S. as stolen and advised the property owner on options for removing the boat.

10:19 a.m. Officers responded to the intersection of Washington Street and Mohawk Road regarding a vehicle sitting in the roadway with an unresponsive driver. Officers opened the vehicle door and assisted EMS with the 58-year-old male, who was having diabetic issues and refused further treatment.

05:45 p.m. Officers responded to the 200 block of Washington Street regarding a 38-year-old female drinking and driving. Officers conducted an investigation, including standardized field sobriety tests, revealing significant impairment. The female was arrested and transported to the Chillicothe Police Department for driving while intoxicated.

06:44 p.m. Officers responded to Elm Street and JFK regarding a large group of people fighting. Officers calmed the situation and found the disturbance to be verbal. No further issues were reported.

08:41 p.m. Officers responded to the area of Smith Street and Cowgill regarding a report of individuals lighting fireworks. Officers located the subjects, advised them of the fireworks ordinance, and resolved the issue.

11:41 p.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of Clay Street regarding a 59-year-old female who was suicidal and had taken multiple pills. The female was transported by EMS to Hedrick Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
