By executive order from Chillicothe Mayor Theresa Kelly, several facilities in the Chillicothe Parks System will close to public use effective immediately due to concerns of COVID-19 and in line with city, county, state, and federal guidelines and recommendations.

Chillicothe playgrounds, fitness equipment, shelter houses, and restroom facilities will be closed until further notice. The decision was made after input from the public, city officials, law enforcement, and other communities.

Walking trails and other sports and recreational facilities will remain open to the public at this time to benefit the physical and mental health of the community. Chillicothe Parks Director Josh Norris asks individuals to “strictly” follow social distancing guidelines.

More information can be obtained by contacting the Chillicothe City Hall at 660-646-1877 or Parks Office at 660-646-4424.
