The Missouri Fox Trotters Horse Breed Association inducted a rural Chillicothe man into its Hall of Fame recently.

William “Bill” Hinkebein received the honor at the yearly Fox Trotter World Show and Celebration in Ava.

He received the award due to his miles of trail competitions through the North American Trail Ride Association; his ability to raise, train, and show his registered fox trotter horses; and his spreading the word of the versatility of the horses.

Hinkebein has competed in more than 14,000 miles of competitions in 30 years.
