Four Chillicothe Fire Department personnel responded to a fence fire at Shafer Park with a pumper Friday night.
Fire Chief Darrell Wright reports that firefighters found multiple bushes smoldering when they arrived at the scene used a water fire extinguisher to finish extinguishing the fire.
Wright reports there was damage to several bushes and landscaping, and the entrance canopy had minor fire damage. He says he believes the cause was mostly like vandalism.
Wright adds that the Chillicothe Police Department were on the scene and are conducting an investigation.
