The Chillicothe Fire Department late Saturday afternoon responded to a rural location after receiving a report of a “boom” and then smoke.

It turned out to be a controlled burn of a brush pile that had several tires on top of it.

Chillicothe Fire Department Lieutenant/EMT Tracy Bradley said one of the tires was burning.

The non-burning tires were removed and the owner used a backhoe to remove the burning tire which was extinguished.

Lieutenant Bradley said the owner was advised to stay with the fire as it continued to burn.

The location of the fire was at 13748 Liv 247 with the owner listed as Brian Alexander.

Chillicothe firefighters were on the scene briefly.
