The Chillicothe Farmers Market will plan and budget for advertising and events at its annual meeting later this month. The meeting will be at the Livingston County Health Center in Chillicothe on the evening of March 24, 2020, at 6 o’clock. Other agenda items include setting dues and an election of officers.

Anyone interested in selling processed food at the Chillicothe Farmers Market is invited to attend the food vendor certification and annual renewal session that evening at 5:30. Items such as baked goods, jams, and jellies made in a home kitchen, may be sold at the farmers market once the certification requirement is fulfilled. Anyone interested in selling frozen meats or eggs is also invited to learn more about requirements for the sale of the products at the market.

Other products that can be sold at the market include locally grown, whole, fresh vegetables and fruits in season or extended season as well as herbs and spices, plants, flowers, specialty or value-added products, and arts and crafts produced by the member.

A question and answer session will be held at the health center on the evening of March 24th at 5:45. Chillicothe Farmers Market Tonja Tiemeyer says the question and answer session will be an opportunity to learn from experienced vendors and get tips on display, packaging, pricing, and health department requirements. Resource and information handouts will be available.
