The Chillicothe City Council unanimously approved a new foreman for the street department.
William Hays will hold the position, which has been vacant for two and a half months since Jeff Gillespie was elevated to Assistant Street Commissioner.
Street Commissioner Barry Arthur recommended Hays for the position following a request from interested current employees to seek the management position.
The search committee for a new Chillicothe Administrator voted unanimously to trim the application list from 23 to four.
The committee is checking references and hopes to bring in finalists for interviews and a tour of the city soon.
