The Chillicothe City Council approved hiring two employees for the Chillicothe Police Department and several promotions for the Chillicothe Fire Department during an executive session this week.
Caitlin Howell was hired as a full-time dispatcher and Brian Schmidt was hired as a part-time police officer.
Promotions for the fire department included Aaron Minnick from Lieutenant to Captain, Derrick Allen from firefighter/paramedic to Captain, Robert Williams from firefighter/paramedic to Lieutenant, and Leslie Hinnen from Captain to Battalion Chief. The fire department promotions are all effective April 1st.
All of the votes regarding hires and promotions were four to zero.
