The Chillicothe City Council took action on health insurance matters on January 10th.

The annual health insurance opt-out policy was adopted. City Clerk Roze Frampton reports if an employee opts out of receiving coverage through the city’s health insurance, the city will pay the employee $127.71 per month.

The council also passed a motion involving the COBRA premium payment. If an employee leaves the City of Chillicothe, he or she can go on COBRA for 18 months. The employee would pay the city a COBRA premium payment of $666.16 per month if the employee continues on the city’s health insurance.

The council reviewed draft ordinances that would repeal the limitation of particular dog breeds. The topic is to be discussed again at a later date.
