The Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the Grand Marshal for the 72nd Annual Holiday Parade in Chillicothe.
The Holiday Parade Committee selected Kelly Poling and his family to receive the honor. Committee member Ronni Clark says Poling has been a major part in creating the murals in Chillicothe.
“The Sounds of Christmas” themed parade will begin the morning of November 17th at 10 o’clock.
Hedrick Medical Center, Hy-Vee, and Midwest Gloves and Gear sponsor the parade which will include floats and entries from organizations, youth groups, churches, businesses, and individuals in the Chillicothe area. Bands and musical groups from the area will also be part of the parade, including the Chillicothe High School Marching Hornets and the Chillicothe Middle School seventh and eighth-grade bands.
Trenton Coca-Cola Bottling sponsors Kansas City Chiefs mascot KC Wolf, and Pepsi-Cola Bottling of Chillicothe sponsor Kansas City Royals mascot Sluggerrr in the parade.
Parade judging will take place during the parade with entries judged in the categories of business, nonprofit group, organization, and youth organization. Winners will be announced Saturday afternoon.
Parade entries are due by Tuesday, November 13th with letters providing the parade number and lot location mailed prior to the parade.
