Chillicothe authorities pursue two in stolen pickup on Highway 65

Fugitive takes pursuit off-road, crashes vehicle, then flees into timber before being tracked down by authorities

The Chillicothe Police Department reports two subjects in a pickup truck reported as stolen led officers on a pursuit on Tuesday.

The officers pursued the vehicle on southbound Highway 65 south of Chillicothe. The truck turned near Roach Lake and slowed, with one subject exiting and being apprehended. The vehicle proceeded north toward Chillicothe and crashed in a grassy area at the junction of Business U. S. 36 and U. S. 65, where the other subject was apprehended.

The subjects were processed and transported to the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail.

Edward Everett Arnold of Excelsior Springs and Sease Michael Beard of Corder have both been charged with the felonies of first degree tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest, detention, or stop by fleeing, creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury or death to any person.

Beard’s bond was set at $20,000 cash only, and Arnold’s is $10,000 cash only.
