The Highway Patrol reports a child from Cameron sustained minor injuries when a sports utility vehicle struck an International truck Tuesday morning.
The SUV driven by 28-year-old Sherri Johnson of Cameron and the truck driven by 60-year-old Terry Gentry of Cameron both traveled south on Route EE in DeKalb County. The truck stopped at the intersection with U. S. Highway 69 before being struck from behind by the SUV. Both vehicles came to rest on their wheels facing south on Route EE.
The SUV received extensive damage, and the truck did not receive any. An ambulance transported Johnson’s passenger, four-year-old Chole Johnson, to Cameron Regional Medical Center.
The Patrol reports all involved wore a safety device at the time of the accident with the Cameron Police and Fire departments assisting at the scene.
