Students from Mrs. Howe’s leadership class at Central Elementary School recently had a hands-on learning experience.

The leadership group is the nature/agriculture group, the students get to meet once a week to learn how leadership connects with nature and agriculture.

The Litton Crusaders assisted the class with helping them plant seeds to germinate in their classroom. The seeds were provided by the University of Missouri Extension, and the rest of the materials were provided by the Litton Crusaders program.

Later, the students will transplant the young plant into tubs that will be located at the school. The students are hoping to be able to plant more vegetables as the temperatures start to warm.
