A Carrollton man entered a plea of not guilty in Division One of Carroll County Circuit Court this week on charges stemming from an incident in December in which officials reported he fled from the scene of a vehicle accident.

Online court information shows Edward Everett Arnold’s case was continued at his request to June 11, 2019.

Arnold faces a felony charge of first degree tampering with a motor vehicle as well as misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated—prior offender, driving while revoked or suspended—first offense, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and first degree trespassing.

Officials reported Arnold attempted to pass a vehicle on southbound U. S. Highway 65 near the Missouri River Bridge when a collision occurred. He allegedly fled on foot from the scene but was apprehended when officers tracked his footprints in the snow.
