Missouri Governor Eric Greitens appointed a judge from Carrollton as Circuit Judge for the Eighth Judicial Circuit.
Judge Kevin Walden will replace Honorable David Miller, who retired earlier this month. The Eighth Judicial Circuit covers Carroll and Ray counties.
Walden has been an Associate Circuit Court judge for Carroll County since 2005 and has presided over more than 1,000 cases. Before serving as a judge, he was the prosecuting attorney for Carroll County and a private practitioner.
Walden is the President of the Carroll County Bar Association.
He received his undergraduate degree from Truman State University in Kirksville and his law degree with honors from the University of Iowa College of Law in Iowa City.
