The 55th Annual Camp Rainbow will be held at Crowder State Park west of Trenton June 18th through 24th.

Camp Director Daniel Savage tells that there will be a variety of activities provided for the campers with disabilities, including canoeing, swimming, crafts, kickball, water games, and dances.

Members of the fire station, the Highway Patrol, and the Department of Conservation will visit the camp and do presentations.

He notes that there will be about 80 campers attending Camp Rainbow in two different sessions.

Savage says the camp makes a huge impact on the participants.

He explains that many of the individuals do not have an affordable opportunity to attend a summer camp, and that is what lead to the creation of Camp Rainbow.

Savage says many campers go home after camp and immediately pack their bags for next year.

Savage adds that Camp Rainbow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and any donations to it are tax-deductible.
