A Cameron man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted on charges of murdering his wife.

28-year-old Adam Baker was sentenced Thursday in Clay County Circuit Court to serve a total of 16 years with the department of corrections. The sentence breaks down to 13 years for second-degree murder and three years for armed criminal action.

The sentences run consecutively per the order of the judge: Larry Dale Harman.

On July 14th, a jury found Adam Baker guilty of the charges during a trial held in Clay County where the case was moved on a change of venue from Clinton County.

Authorities said Holly Baker was shot and killed following an argument in their home at Cameron in February of last year.
