A burn ban has been enacted within the corporate city limits of Spickard.
Mayor Jesse Richmond says the burn ban will be in effect until there is a substantial amount of rain. He advises residents to not throw out cigarette ashes and put out cigarettes in car ashtrays.
Grundy County Emergency Management Monday encouraged county residents to use extra care with outdoor activities including burning.
