A brush fire burned approximately 90 acres Saturday in Livingston County.

The Chillicothe Fire Department responded to the blaze at 9005 Highway 190 around noon with two brush trucks, a tanker, and two UTVs. Fire Chief Eric Reeter noted personnel used leaf blowers and mobile water pumps to extinguish the blaze that had started as a controlled burn Saturday morning. Firefighters returned later for spot fires after the wind increased, utilizing a brush truck and blowers.

The total time on the scene was approximately six hours. The property owner was identified as Rich Schmitt. The Department of Conservation provided assistance.
