The highway patrol reports a man from Brunswick, Missouri was injured late Thursday night in a single-vehicle accident in Carroll County and later arrested.

The highway patrol reports 43-year-old Michael Mayer was eastbound when the vehicle he was driving crossed the center of Highway 24, traveled off the right side of the road where it struck an embankment, a utility pole, and overturned.

Mayer received moderate injuries and was transported by an ambulance to Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

The patrol, early Friday morning, accused Michael Mayer of driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, failure to drive on the right half of the road, as well as careless and imprudent driving. The report noted he was released from custody to seek medical treatment.
