Brookfield R-3 Superintendent Doctor Kyle Collins has been identified as having contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

In a letter posted on the school district’s website, Collins wrote that he is quarantining himself for 14 days to watch for the development of symptoms and will not return to district facilities until his quarantine is complete.

Collins said he worked within the district passing out educational packets Monday, but the Linn County Health Department told him the risk of exposure to the public is low with that activity. Collins and the Brookfield School District are working with the health department regarding the matter.

Questions and concerns can be directed to the Linn County Health Department at 660-258-7251.
