The Highway Patrol reports a Braymer man sustained serious injuries after being ejected from a utility terrain vehicle two miles east of Braymer on Friday night.

Sixty-two-year-old Jerry Watson was later arrested and accused of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. He was released and taken by medical helicopter to Liberty Hospital.

The UTV traveled east on Route N before it ran off the south side of the road, became airborne, struck the ground, hit a barb wire fence, overturned multiple times, and ejected Watson. The vehicle received extensive damage, and Watson did not wear safety equipment.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Braymer Fire Department, and Life Flight assisted at the scene of the crash.
