A Blythedale resident received serious injuries when he was thrown from an ATV on private property.
32-year-old Gregory Welch was transported to Decatur County Hospital at Leon, Iowa.
The accident happened early Saturday morning five miles northeast of Blythedale when the ATV went out of control as it was traveling down an embankment on a private trail. The machine overturned, throwing welch off.
Welch was not wearing a safety equipment and damage to the ATV was listed as minor.
