The Highway Patrol reports a Hannibal man sustained moderate injuries when a semi-truck overturned half of a mile east of LaPlata Thursday morning.
Sixty-year-old Roy Couch drove the truck east on Highway 156 when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to run off the left side of the road before overturning and coming to rest on the passenger side partially in the road.
An ambulance transported Couch to the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. The Patrol reports Couch did not wear a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The semi received extensive damage.
The LaPlata Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Macon County Rescue Squad and Ambulance, assisted at the scene of the crash.
