Bids from two contractors were submitted to the Missouri Department of Transportation for resurfacing work this year in Trenton as well as Grundy and Daviess Counties.

Three projects were combined into one for bidding purposes with both bids topping $4,300,000.

Bids came from Emery Sapp and Sons Incorporated of Columbia and from Herzog Contracting Corporation of St. Joseph. The apparent low bidder is Emery Sapp and Sons. According to information provided by Resident MoDot Engineer Randy Mendenhall, the Emery Sapp bid is $4,322.039 with the bid from Herzog Contracting a little higher at $4,388,381.

Mendenhall reports the two bids will be reviewed by MoDOT officials and presented for either approval or rejection at the March 4th meeting of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.

The Trenton portion of work involves a thin lift overlay and sidewalks along one point seven miles of Highway 6 between 4th Street and Highway 65. A similar overlay is another portion with work to be done on Highways 69 and 6 from Interstate 35 to Route K east of Gallatin and a third component on the bidding involved Highway 6 between Daviess County Route K and the west city limits of Trenton.
