Bethany man injured when SUV strikes bridge wall

A Bethany resident was hurt when the sport utility vehicle he was driving hit a bridge guard rail, then a bridge wall early Sunday south of Bethany.

43-year-old David Parkhurst was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital at Bethany with moderate injuries.

The accident happened two miles south of Bethany on Highway 13, when the northbound SUV traveled off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail, then went back to the left, striking a bridge wall.

The SUV was demolished.

Parkhurst was wearing a seat belt.
