Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox reports investigation continues following two children being removed from a home in southern Livingston County and taken to Hedrick Medical Center of Chillicothe for examination after someone reported possible child neglect.

The report indicated the children were found to be in conditions with an odor of feces, urine, and rotting food.

The sheriff’s office responded to the location Thursday, and a deputy reported he had to leave the interior of the home to vomit due to the conditions. Cox says the home had no running water, and the occupants were using buckets. One or more caretakers had allegedly dropped off the children at the home on December 31st, so the caretakers could go to a party.

A report indicates the father has one or more outstanding arrest warrants.

Division of Family Services was notified as well as Senior Services due to the living conditions for an elderly resident.
