The Trenton Rotary Club has sponsorships available for American and Missouri flags that line the Missouri Day Parade route and the Ninth Street Bridge.

Rotary Club member Brian Upton says businesses or individuals can sponsor a four by six-foot flag to commemorate or memorialize someone for three years for $50.00 with proceeds going to the upkeep of the flags.

Volunteers will set up the flags early the morning October 19th and take them down the afternoon of October 21st and Rotary Club member Steve Taylor notes the flags on the Ninth Street Bridge include a couple of Rotary flags.

Brian Upton encourages anyone interested in sponsoring a flag to contact him at 660-359-2250.

Upton says about 50 businesses and individuals are sponsoring flags again this year.

The Missouri Day Festival Parade in Trenton will also include several special guests.  Savannah Fogle with the Trenton Rotary Club says those guests include Grand Marshall Doctor John Holcomb, Kansas City Royals mascot Sluggerrr (correct spelling), and area royalty.

The royalty includes Miss Calamity Jane, Sullivan County Princess, Gallatin High School Homecoming king and queen, Tri-County High School Barnwarming king and queen, and Milan High School Homecoming queen.

Fogle notes that other schools that would like to enter royalty in the parade should submit a parade entry with information on how to submit an entry at the Trenton Chamber of Commerce website.

The Missouri Day Festival Parade starts at Crowder Road and Main Street the morning of October 20th at 8:30.
