Approximately 7,000 veterans with connections to Missouri separate from the military each year, but the majority do not choose to live in the state. The governor wants them to stay.

Governor Mike Parson who served in the U.S. Army began sending personal letters this week to service members in the process of leaving the military at Fort Leonard Wood and Whiteman Air Force Base, as well as new veterans separated from the service outside Missouri. The letters encourage service members to connect with the state’s wide range of workforce services. The governor says the goal is to make Missouri the best state in the nation for veterans to live and work.
