Nestle has hired about 100 full-time workers and plans to hire roughly 50 more for its purchase of the Conagra plant in northwest Missouri’s Trenton on June 1.

Phil Tate, who has been working to recruit another company to run the Conagra plant, tells Missourinet the region feels like a huge burden has been lifted off its shoulders.

A Nestle worker in Trenton will make an average of more than 41,000-dollars. Tate says there are no incentive “giveaways” to the company.

Republican State Rep. Rusty Black of Chillicothe tells Missourinet the region has been gloomy and needs the boost.
