The Missouri Senate has passed a proposed 30 billion dollar state budget for the fiscal year beginning in July. The fiscal outline includes 3.5-billion dollars for the formula used to fund Missouri’s K through 12 public schools – a 62-million dollar increase over the current year. Creve Coeur Democrat Jill Schupp says the proposed school transportation budget of 112-million is significantly underfunded.

Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Dan Hegeman of Cosby says the blueprint includes 417 million dollars for the University of Missouri System, 84.3 million for Missouri State University and 54.5 million for the University of Central Missouri.

The fiscal plan headed to House and Senate negotiations also includes 45 million for Southeast Missouri State, 40.8 million for Truman State and nine million for Harris-Stowe State University.
