The Missouri Senate’s deadlock is over but get ready for another lengthy showdown.

Governor Parson and members of his own party have reached a deal on a bill motivated by a possible General Motors expansion. The six-member Senate Conservative Caucus ultimately gave up its 26-hour fight in exchange for an abortion proposal debate next.

Senator Bill Eigel, who lives near the Wentzville plant and opposed the measure, used a loaf of bread to make his point about compromise.

Parson says the passage of the job training and tax credit package shows the nation that Missouri is ready to compete for jobs.
