The state’s medical marijuana director will be back to testify at the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City next Wednesday.

Director Lyndall Fraker delivered a presentation to the House Special Committee on Government Oversight yesterday. House Speaker Elijah Haahr tells Capitol reporters that lawmakers are trying to learn more about how the program works.

There have been complaints about the scoring system, and how Missouri awards licenses. Poplar Bluff State Senator Doug Libla delivered a scathing speech this week on the Senate floor, describing the medical marijuana program as “one of the biggest boondoggles” he’s seen in his life.

Missouri voters approved a 2018 ballot measure that allows 24 licensed dispensary locations in each of the state’s eight congressional districts.
