A 28-billion dollar state budget that provides record funding for K-12 education has been approved by the Missouri House. Budget Committee Chairman Scott Fitzpatrick tells the Capitol Press Corps protecting those with developmental disabilities is one of his top priorities.

Fitzpatrick says lawmakers are working within the confines of state revenue and the consensus revenue estimate. He says the Legislature did the best they could, with what they had to work with.
