Kansas City is suing some gun distributors for being a “public nuisance.” The civil suit contends that by selling dozens of guns to one person without a federal background check puts the city and state in danger.

The guns were sold to former Kansas City Fire Department Capt. James Samuels who is charged with federal gun trafficking. One of the firearms was used in a murder.

Mayor Quenton Lucas says mayors of cities with crime problems will continue to meet.

Everytown Law and Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, is assisting in the suit.
