The U.S. Department of Justice is taking steps to prevent election fraud ahead of the midterm election on Tuesday. Missourinet contributor Jill Enders has the story.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Hal Goldsmith has been appointed to serve as the District Election Officer for the Eastern District of Missouri. This is all part of the Justice Department’s nationwide Election Day Program for Tuesday’s midterm election. In this role, Goldsmith is responsible for overseeing the District’s handling of complaints of election fraud and abuses of voting rights.

In addition, the FBI will have special agents available in each field office throughout the country to receive allegations of election fraud and other election abuses on election day. Reporting in St. Louis, Jill Enders
