Audio: Central Missouri student advances to quarterfinals of national spelling bee

Eight Missouri students, in grades 6 through 8, competed in Tuesday’s preliminary round of the national spelling bee. Aanya Shetty, an 11-year-old from Columbia, is one of three Missouri students moving to Wednesday’s quarterfinals. She correctly spelled this word.

 

 

She also correctly spelled the word toque and correctly selected the meaning of the word doldrums.
