Area schools report enrollments for the first day of school

Area schools are reporting in with enrollments for the school year.

Grundy R-5 reports an enrollment of 126 which is down 11 compared to opening day a year ago.

There were 64 students in Kindergarten through sixth grade at Humphreys and 62 in grades 7 through 12 at Galt. The largest grade at Grundy R-5 was the 5th with fifteen. The Smallest class sizes were the second and fourth grades with five.

The Spickard school district began classes with 30 students which is up 4 compared to opening day a year ago

The North Mercer district reports an opening day enrollment of 210 students which is up 17 compared to the first day a year ago. The largest class is tenth grade with 23, while the smallest class is sixth and seventh grades with 11 each.

Gallatin had a first-day enrollment of 619 with 212 students in grades 9 through 12, 205 in grades 5 through 8, and 202 in kindergarten through 4th grade.
