One Trenton lineman joined other line workers from Missouri in deployment for Hurricane Irma recovery.

City Administrator and Utility Director Ron Urton says the lineman headed to Florida Thursday as part of a mutual aid agreement, adding the line workers will help get power restored in affected areas.

The Missouri Public Utility Alliance reports the Florida Municipal Electric Association issued a call to the Missouri alliance for mutual aid assistance Wednesday.

The mutual aid response allows city electric utility workers to help during widespread outages in other communities.  Municipal utilities receiving assistance reimburse assisting cities.

A spokeswoman from North Central Missouri Electric Cooperative says North Central Missouri Electric will send four workers and four bucket trucks to help with Hurricane Irma recovery as well.

A spokesman from Grundy Electric Cooperative reports Grundy Electric has men lined up in case it is called to help.
