An area FFA member has been selected to explore careers in the animal systems industry next week as part of a NextGen Conference offered by the National FFA Organization.

Luke Vaughn from the Marceline FFA Chapter is one of 50 high school students chosen from across the country to attend the inaugural event in Kansas City from February 18th through 23rd.

NextGen conferences will focus on pathways in which high school students might be interested, and students will have access to new ideas, trends, and opportunities to connect them directly with industry leaders. The conferences are designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors as a hands-on, industry-relevant experience.

More than 150 students applied for the next week’s conference, which will focus on animal systems. Students will explore operations in animal systems, learn from industry leaders, and learn how to plan for future careers and college plans.

They will also learn marketing, new technologies, and opportunities in animal systems.
