Area counties report 53 new cases of COVID-19 and 70 COVID-19 related deaths

COVID-19 cases have increased by 12 in Harrison County since December 16th, which the health department says brings the total 584. Active cases went up by eight to 43. Eleven COVID-19-related deaths have been reported for Harrison County.

The Putnam County Health Department reports 11 new COVID-19 cases were added on December 17th, making the total 331. Fifty-four cases are under public health monitoring. There have been five COVID-19-related deaths for Putnam County. The health department notes it is seeing an uptick in cases about two weeks after gathering and trips that tended not to allow for social distancing.

Eight COVID-19 cases have been added for Linn County since December 16th, which the health department reports brings the total to 812. Active cases decreased by one to 68. Sixty-four of the active cases are in the community. Twenty COVID-19-related deaths have been reported for Linn County.

The Livingston County Health Center announces 22 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 995.  Active cases increased by 14 to 84. Fifty-nine of the active cases are in the community, 14 are facility actives, and 11 are school actives. There are 10 current COVID-19-related hospitalizations and 32 deaths.

The Grundy County Health Department reports two additional COVID-19-related deaths since December 16th, which brings the total to 25. Twenty-nine cases were added for a total of 806. Five hundred ninety-five cases are confirmed. Active cases went up by 14 to 118.
