Alcohol involved in ATV accident near Novinger; passenger life-flighted

A Green City woman received serious injuries in an all-terrain vehicle accident on private property southwest of Novinger.

42-year-old Julie Muntz of Green City, a passenger on the vehicle, was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital at Columbia.

Her 34-year-old husband, Aaron Muntz of Green City was not reported hurt.

The highway patrol accused Aaron Muntz with driving while intoxicated.

The accident happened early Sunday morning on private property, five miles southwest of Novinger, when the all-terrain vehicle was traveling in a field and hit a ditch.

Damage to the vehicle was listed as minor. Neither person was wearing a safety device.
