Additional funds released by Governor earmark money for East Locust Creek reservoir

When Governor Nixon announced the release of $12,000,000 in state funds that he had withheld, there’s money promised for the lake project in rural Sullivan County.

East Locust Creek reservoir will be getting $1,700,000 to, according to the Governor’s office, to help complete land acquisition north of Milan and to leverage significant federal funds and other support needed for the project.

The Governor noted the project has strong support in providing a reliable water supply for north central Missouri.

Other funds released by the Governor for the current fiscal year budget includes $9,000,000 for local public schools. This includes $6,000,000 for the Foundation Formula for K-12 public schools, as well as $3 million for school transportation.

The State Budget Office said net general revenue in Missouri increased 5.8% for September.
