The week of activities commemorating Trenton R-9 Homecoming will be held September 24 through September 30.

The Kick Off for Homecoming will begin on Sunday, September 24 with a 5K Kaleidoscope Run at 2 pm at C.F. Russell Stadium. B-Boppin-Dave will DJ the start of the even and the Trenton Fire Department will begin the race.

Students, faculty, and personnel at all schools are encouraged to participate in Spirit Week activities. The Homecoming Theme is Out of This World.

The THS Student Council feels that school spirit began as early as Rissler Elementary School for them. So they are encouraging all students and faculty to actively participate in carrying on the spirit of Homecoming.

Many area businesses have agreed to allow the Student Council to paint their windows to show support for the Trenton Bulldogs.

Spirit Week will begin on Monday with Dynamic Duo where students dress as a pair. Tuesday is Tacky Tourists Day, Wednesday is Super Hero, Thursday is Tie Dye Day, and Friday will be Black Out Day, the traditional wearing of black clothing.

As part of Homecoming activities, the student council will be taking attendance each day of the week for school spirit, and at the Homecoming football game.

During each lunch shift, prizes will also be given to the student with the most spirit. The homeroom classes will also be allowed to decorate their doors. A pizza party will be awarded by the student council for the homeroom door that wins.

The traditional pep rally will be Thursday, September 28 at 7 o’clock at the C.F. Russell Stadium. The guest speaker will be athletic director Wes Croy. Fall sports teams will be introduced. There will be the royalty coronation, followed by the bonfire.

Candidates for Homecoming queen are seniors Abbie Shuler, Jayden Roeder, and Cassidy Trump. Senior King Candidates are Lucas Clark, Lathan Croy, and Colton Colston. Prior to the kick-off Friday night, the queen and king and their court will be introduced. The girls will be escorted down the 50-yard line by their fathers. Assisting with the introductions will be the THS Marching Band, under the direction of Tim Gilham, and the THS Colorguard, under the direction of Kelli Griffith.
