Seventy-three of 80 absentee ballots requested from the Grundy County Clerk’s Office in Tuesday’s election had been voted on or returned as of 4:55 Monday afternoon.
That included 16 individuals who voted absentee at the courthouse in Trenton Monday. Seven absentee ballots requested had not yet been received.
The Grundy County Clerk’s Office reports absentee ballots received in Tuesday’s mail will still be counted.
In last April’s election, 95 residents voted absentee in Grundy County, and nine requested absentee ballots were not returned.
