A Gallatin resident was hurt in a four-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon three miles west of Gallatin on Route CC.

One of the drivers, 20-year-old Wyatt Owings of Gallatin, was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. Owings was the only person reported hurt.

All of the vehicles were eastbound on highway 6 when patrol said a pickup truck driven by 64-year old Ronald Stalkleet of Perry, Kansas failed to stop for vehicles turning on the road. The pickup hit, from behind, the car driven by Owings, then hit a pickup truck operated by 43-year-old Gilbert Sizemore of Kirksville. Upon the impact, the pickup driven by Sizemore also hit from behind, a sports utility vehicle operated by 32-year-old Kayli Johnson of Gallatin.

The car driven by Wyatt Owings went off the road and into a yard while the other vehicles came to rest on the road or a shoulder of the highway.

The car driven by Owings and the pickup operated by Stalkfleet were demolished, the pickup operated by Sizemore had moderate damage, and the SUV driven by Ms. Johnson received minor damage.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
