4 in arrest report from local authorities

Four individuals have been arrested on a variety of charges with officers traveling to Alaska for one of them.

Two officers of the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department have returned from Ketchikan, Alaska with 38-year-old Jonathan K. Hanson of Laredo. Hanson is to appear October 12th in Grundy County Circuit Court.

Probation has been suspended until further order of the court with bond set at $15,000 cash. Hanson’s original charge from December 2015 involved possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine. The Grundy County probation violation warrant was issued the first of May resulting now in Hanson’s arrest four months later.

St. Joseph resident Jason Eric Almond was arrested Friday on a probation violation warrant with bond set at $15,000 cash pending Almond’s appearance on October 12 in Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court. Probation has been suspended until further order of the court.

The original charge against 39-year-old Almond was felony theft of property valued at $500 or more back in December 2011. At that time, Almond’s arrest showed he had a Chillicothe address. The probation violation warrant was issued July 31st.

A Trenton teen was arrested today on a sex related charge stemming from an investigation conducted by the Trenton Police Department.

19-year-old Colby Weaver faces charges of child molestation in the first degree stemming from an alleged incident last October 31 involving another person under the age of 14. Weaver is accused of having sexual contact with that person and a bond of $75,000 dollars cash has been set.

22-year-old Cory Burchett, with a rural Trenton address, has been arrested on two misdemeanor counts. One is an alleged violation of a protection order for an adult.

Burchett is accused, between September 3 and 7th, of contacting a female via text and Facebook messages when he allegedly was prevented by the court order from doing so. The other is harassment in the second degree in which he is accused of making threats.

Burchett is to appear Tuesday, September 12 in the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court. His bond has been set at $7,500 cash.
