316 absentee ballots returned to Grundy County Clerk

During special hours Saturday morning at the Grundy County Clerk’s office in Trenton, thirty-three people voted absentee for Tuesday’s election.

That brings to 316 the total number of absentees returned to the county clerk’s office with another 25 ballots requested but not yet returned. Individuals can vote absentee until Monday afternoon at 5 o’clock at county clerks offices around the state and can also vote Tuesday at the polls from 6 in the morning until 7 at night.

The 316 absentees returned to the Grundy County Clerk’s office represents an uptick of 98 compared to the total number of absentees cast four year’s ago in Grundy County during the general election that did not include presidential candidates.

The 316 ballots this year is down 253 compared to the total number of absentees cast two years ago when Presidential candidates were among those on the ballot.
