A total of 30 female graduates of North Mercer and Princeton high schools received scholarships to attend Missouri colleges and universities during the fall semester.

The financial assistance was made available by the Gene Kauffman Scholarship Foundation in Mercer County.

Collectively, the 30 women benefited from more than $93, 300 in scholarship money so they can attend classes this fall. The biggest majority, 17 women, are enrolled at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. The remainder of the recipients are attending eight other colleges or universities across Missouri.

Each of the 30 signed statements saying they met all criteria for the scholarship program, the most unique of which is being a non-smoker. Each also is enrolled for and must pass, at least 12 hours of higher education credits.

Applications for the spring 2018 semester will be available as of November 1 at the principal offices of Princeton and North Mercer high schools and/or on the respective school districts’ website.
