3 children hurt in Monday afternoon crash near Bethany

Three children from Bethany received minor injuries when according to the highway patrol, a vehicle driven by their mother went out of control on a Harrison county road, skidded sideways and overturned onto its top.

The accident happened Monday afternoon five miles to the southeast of Bethany when 36-year-old Dawn Folgate of Bethany was driving eastbound when the accident happened on East 350th Street.

Taken by ambulance to Harrison county community hospital in Bethany were 11-year-old Serenity Throckmorton, ten-year-old Brody Throckmorton, and six-year-old Rylee Folgate. The driver wasn’t hurt and all occupants were using safety equipment.

The sports utility vehicle sustained extensive damage in the accident at 2:15 Monday afternoon.

The Harrison County sheriff’s office assisted the highway patrol.
